Allen, Briggs and Turner LLP describes itself as an independent, privately owned practice established for over 40 years, treating cats, dogs and other small animals. The website highlights in-house diagnostics and ward setup (digital x‑ray, ultrasound, in‑house lab, fully equipped dental suite, and a separate feline hospitalisation ward) and states it provides 24‑hour emergency care for already registered clients with its own vets and nurses on call. Reviews broadly reflect a practice that handles both routine care and more complex cases—one owner specifically mentions a referral for a broken leg and praises the surgeon—while a small number of recent reviews raise concerns about rushed appointments and communication (including a missed ear-mites diagnosis at an initial kitten check and a booster appointment described as abrupt).

Very disappointing experience. At my kitten’s initial health check, a case of ear mites was missed, which was concerning as a new pet owner relying on professional advice. At a later vaccination appointment, the vet’s manner was abrasive and unprofessional, with little communication or reassurance. Overall, I found the practice to have poor customer service, inadequate communication, and a lack of care and support for new pet owners. I have no confidence in the standard of service and would not recommend this practice.

We saw Cristina Lopes as a veterinarian today. An outstanding clinician who took her time, handled the patient expertly & discussed an appropriate treatment plan rather than issuing an overly simplistic diagnosis. A brilliant, responsive & reasonably priced service. Highly recommended

Nigel was the best vet I have ever met. The compassion and knowledge bowled me over. He looked after my little Netherland dwarf, Nibbles like I would have done if I were clever enough to be a vet. I cannot recommend Allen Briggs and Turner enough. Well done Sir. 👏

I feel I have to share my yesterday’s experience in vets. I came to vets with my dog for annual check up and booster. There was no proper check up as we have every year ten years in a row that how long we are with this vets only listening my dogs heart that all. I said to the lady that my dog has a hard little lump on her chest. She checked and said it’s a mammary tumour. Then she looked at the time and said she got six minutes left to her doctors appointment. She was running I think to staff toilet and telling me that she will email me about I guess removal of the lump. Our injections card was full so she put at the bottom outside the lines saying that will do for the cennel as we had cennel cough injection too. Everything was doing such in a rush. I felt like I was rushed out. I paid £70 for 2 minutes annual check up which was nothing close what we used to have as lady was rushing to her doctors appointment. Hearing a word tumour you already in shock but I had so many questions to ask but I been told that she has doctors appointment and she will email me. We are 10 years with this vets surgery I never ever had any issues any problems the dog was proper checked every single our visit from head to paws but not this time. This time only done injections checked heart said my dog has tumour and running through the doors shout to me that she will sent me an email and I left their stand in shock with open mouth how it was so unprofessional, she was so unkind to us. There was no compassion, communication it’s shocking and no care Today still no any email.I’m nervous stressing and worrying about my dog, I’m sitting at home in tears waiting for email. I rang surgery and asked if I have another appointment with another person the lovely receptionist made another appointment. I hope a better visit on Friday.

Plenty of parking and seen at appointment time. Would have been better if there were separate waiting rooms for dogs and cats but we were happy to stay in the car till called.
