Gainsborough Referrals

I brought my Harry to JB in critical condition (stick accident) after I have previously been dismissed by other bigger company that insisted he is ok whose delayed treatment caused Harry infection. JB was absolutely amazing in seeing him straight away on Saturday morning when the rest of the team was not working and after seeing the bad state he was in, fitting in urgent surgery after lovely nurse (I think Sian) ended up showing up on her day off after very long week at work. I can't praise the whole team enough for their prompt and amazing treatment of the boy, for looking after him for over a week during the days and nights, communicating clearly all concerns and process with us even after their busy and long days at work and saving his life. You can see how every single person at Gainsborough Referrals including the lovely receptionists genuinely cares about your pet as much as you do and they will do everything they can to help by being productive in their care in assuring they are 100% after their treatment (with even John offering to check Harry after I reported some issues with his healing process). Thank you!

My puppy Rottweiler required surgery due to fracture around the hind leg knee , The surgery and the follow up was excellent , very impressed with the explanation of the surgery , this happened in July it is now October , my dog is as good as can be , not struggling , a slight gait but that is to be expected , he looks good ,his leg carries his weight well he is now 43 kilo and still growing , I’m happy that he’s doing great and so is the vet surgeon , Would I recommend Gainsborough referrals , yes I would , excellent service to my dog and to me

I just want to say thank you to JB and the team for helping my cat with her luxated elbow. JB knew of modern treatments and I was confident in his ability (significantly more so than other vets I had visited). He performed the ESF and after a few weeks crated, she is now back to her usual self, walking, jumping and very happy. I will be eternally grateful that I found JB and I will never hesitate to go straight to him if anything happened to any animal in the future (fingers crossed, touch wood - now insured!). Other vets had told me just to amputate the leg but there was no need. If you’re in any doubt, just call JB and ask. You won’t regret it. Cost wise, I felt it was good value for money considering she needed to stay an extra night and there was no extra charge for that. Thanks again to all of the team. We appreciate you!

JB knew of modern treatments and I was confident in his ability (significantly more so than other vets I had visited). He performed the ESF and after a few weeks crated, she is now back to her usual self, walking, jumping and very happy. We brought our Frenchie Frankie to this practice for spinal surgery, this happened to our dog quite out the blue. I contacted them direct myself and was so pleased I did. My dog was seen by John who listened to all my worries and questions and guided me on each scenario on if we did surgery or not. We decided on surgery and John and the team did an excellent job. I was more than happy with our dogs outcome and she is doing so well now. I was happy with the practice and care they gave my dog. Wouldn't think twice on obtaining any other consultation or surgery if ever required for my dog. Great people, great practice.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say. JB is clearly passionate about what he does, and he does it very well. He took time to explain the options and procedure, and answered all of my questions. Fitz was very well take care of by the team, and recovered brilliantly. I would highly recommend JB and team to anyone.

JB ...what can I say ? Absolutely amazing ! So passionate about his work ! He has a great team at Gainsborough Referrals...I was so worried about my 8 Yr old rottweiler Milo having surgery for a ruptured crucial ligament...but was put at ease by JB after he went through all the details of the operation and aftercare ..any concerns I had after I was able to get answers straight away ...thankyou so much JB for restoring my faith in vets !
