I took my dog Leo to see JB on the 19th Feb to have a CT scan on his throat. JB was superb.He didn't rush the consultation. After the CT and probe he sat down with me and drew a diagram of what he had found. He showed me the CT scans and the video. JB advised on prognosis and where he could refer Leo to for a very complex soft tissue surgery on a mass in his larynx What a vet! Independent, compassionate, knowledgeable and clearly loves his vocation. Thankyou JB and your whole team.

The amazing work that was done on my dogs hind leg after being ran over was life saving for her. I cannot thank JB and all the staff enough for they were all brilliant.

I can't thank John, JB and the team enough. My French Bulldog needed emergency surgery for IVDD urgently. John clearly explained everything and they have done an amazing job both from a surgical perspective and with their after care. The whole team are incredibly nice and caring and extremely experienced. He's recovering really well.

I brought my Harry to JB in critical condition (stick accident) after I have previously been dismissed by other "bigger" company that insisted he is ok whose delayed treatment caused Harry infection. JB was absolutely amazing in seeing him straight away on Saturday morning when the rest of the team was not working and after seeing the bad state he was in, fitting in urgent surgery after lovely nurse (I think Sian) ended up showing up on her day off after very long week at work. I can't praise the whole team enough for their prompt and amazing treatment of the boy, for looking after him for over a week during the days and nights, communicating clearly all concerns and process with us even after their busy and long days at work and saving his life. You can see how every single person at Gainsborough Referrals including the lovely receptionists genuinely cares about your pet as much as you do and they will do everything they can to help by being productive in their care in assuring they are 100% after their treatment (with even John offering to check Harry after I reported some issues with his healing process). Thank you!

My puppy Rottweiler required surgery due to fracture around the hind leg knee , The surgery and the follow up was excellent , very impressed with the explanation of the surgery , this happened in July it is now October , my dog is as good as can be , not struggling , a slight gait but that is to be expected , he looks good ,his leg carries his weight well he is now 43 kilo and still growing , I’m happy that he’s doing great and so is the vet surgeon , Would I recommend Gainsborough referrals , yes I would , excellent service to my dog and to me

I just want to say thank you to JB and the team for helping my cat with her luxated elbow. JB knew of modern treatments and I was confident in his ability (significantly more so than other vets I had visited). He performed the ESF and after a few weeks crated, she is now back to her usual self, walking, jumping and very happy. I will be eternally grateful that I found JB and I will never hesitate to go straight to him if anything happened to any animal in the future (fingers crossed, touch wood - now insured!). Other vets had told me just to amputate the leg but there was no need. If you’re in any doubt, just call JB and ask. You won’t regret it. Cost wise, I felt it was good value for money considering she needed to stay an extra night and there was no extra charge for that. Thanks again to all of the team. We appreciate you!
